Iroko (Chlorophora Excelsa)
Iroko commonly used as a Teak substitute due to its colour and durability for outside projects but not related botanically to Teak. As stated Iroko can be used for various exterior projects including garden furniture, fencing and gates.
26mm (1”) through to 102mm (4”) x 2.1m (7ft) + longer.
Class 2 Durability 15 – 25 years
The tree is feared by some local cultures who believe the tree is inhabited by the spirit of the Iroko man who if seen can cause madness and death.
